This lush oil painting depicts a raging river on a stormy day with a foreboding mood that is so typical of the storms that occur in the rainy BC mountains. The vivid orange autumn trees are complemented against ultramarine and cobalt blue mountains. The brushstrokes of the river rapids repeat the same dramatic movement as the stormy grey-blue sky overhead. This in an impressionistic style painting characterized by expressive brushstrokes.
